ORIGIN: Northern NSW to Northern Queensland (Rainforest)
SOIL TYPE: Will tolerate dry conditions and most soil types.
ASPECT: Full sun, Frost tender.
TOLERANCE: Tolerates full sun.
EVERGREEN/DECIDUOUS: Evergreen
USES: Many councils consider it an excellent street tree as it does not have invasive roots, has a dense crown and does not grow high enough to get into the electricity wires. It has become common on Brisbane streets. A useful specimen and shade tree.
DESCRIPTION: A hardy, fast growing, small to medium evergreen tree with attractive, pale green foliage, duller and paler beneath large, pendulous sprays of greenish-yellow, slightly fragrant flowers borne in summer. Followed by showy orange seed-cases that mature in winter and open to reveal glossy black seeds.
